Fanatech, Inc. ("Fanatech," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Fanatech mobile application and website (collectively, the "Platform"), which allows fans to scan team, athlete, school, and creator logos on merchandise to unlock digital content and subscribe to creators. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account information: name, username, email address, password, date of birth.
- Profile information: avatar, bio, links, team or organization affiliation.
- Payment information: processed by our payment provider (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers.
- Content you upload: photos, videos, text posts, comments, and logo images (for creators).
- Communications: messages you send to support, survey or beta feedback responses.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Camera access: used only to scan logos in real time to trigger unlocks. Camera frames used for on-device logo recognition are processed locally; if any image data is sent to our servers for verification, it is used only for that purpose and is not permanently stored beyond what is necessary to verify the scan.
- Device and usage data: device type, operating system, app version, crash logs, IP address, general location (city/region level), and interaction data (likes, follows, scans, subscriptions).
- Cookies and similar technologies: used on fanatech.app for basic site functionality and analytics.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Payment processors (Stripe) provide confirmation of subscription and payout status.
- Sign-in providers (e.g., Apple, Google) if you choose to register or log in through them.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Platform, including account creation, logo scanning, content unlocks, and subscriptions.
- Process payments, subscriptions, and creator payouts through Stripe Connect.
- Personalize content, feeds, and recommendations.
- Communicate with you about your account, transactions, updates, and support requests.
- Monitor, investigate, and enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, including content moderation and fraud prevention.
- Analyze usage trends to improve features, reliability, and security.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information as follows:
- With creators/teams you subscribe to or follow, limited to what is necessary for the platform to function (e.g., subscriber counts, username).
- With service providers who help us operate the Platform, including cloud hosting, payment processing (Stripe), analytics, and customer support tools.
- With law enforcement or regulators when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Fanatech, our users, or the public.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
4. Children and Minors
The Platform is intended for users age 13 and older. Because a significant portion of our target audience includes youth and high school sports teams, we take extra care regarding minors:
- Users must confirm they are 13 or older to create an account.
- Where we become aware a user is under 13, we will not knowingly collect personal information from that user without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information to us without consent may contact us to request deletion.
- Organizations (schools, youth leagues) that register minors as part of a team account are responsible for obtaining any required parental consent under their own policies, in addition to our in-app confirmations.
5. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and update: you can review and edit your profile information within the app.
- Account deletion: you may delete your account at any time from within the app; this will remove your profile and personal information subject to limited retention for legal, security, or financial recordkeeping purposes.
- Notification settings: you can control which push and in-app notifications you receive.
- California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information below.
- Other jurisdictions: depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete your data.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Platform, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Camera frames used for logo scanning are not retained beyond what is necessary to complete the scan verification.
7. Data Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls, to protect your information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International Users
If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located.
9. Third-Party Links and Services
The Platform may contain links to third-party sites (e.g., payment providers, social media). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy with a new effective date, and, where required, by additional notice (e.g., in-app or email).
